First Time Homebuyer Workshops

Bayview CDC conducts information and guidance to help residents and others improve their chances of becoming homeowners. This workshop series is designed to give participants the tools and knowledge they need to prepare for homeownership. It covers programs including Financial Assistance, Eligibility Requirements, Education & Counseling, Various Loan Products and Additional Protections & Support.

Dear Neighbor

Communication is an important part of maintaining positive relationships with neighbors. To support that, we have created a series of free, colorful cards that residents can use to raise common concerns in a respectful way. For example, the cards can help address issues such as loud gatherings or blocked parking. They are designed to be friendly and non-offensive. A few examples appear below. If you would like a packet, please email our office and we will make sure you receive one.

Economic Development

We are continuing our work related to Sector-based workforce training, social enterprises, transitional employment and technology.  In addition, we are involved developing Housing linked economic development like Community Land Trusts, housing for artists and creatives and mixed-used use development.

Shared Housing

Home Sharing connects homeowners and renters who have extra space with individuals in need of safe, affordable housing creating mutually beneficial living arrangements built on trust, respect, and community. Whether you have a spare bedroom, a finished basement, or simply a willingness to share your living space, this is a meaningful opportunity to make a real difference in someone's life. In return, hosts may benefit from companionship, help around the home, reduced household expenses, or simply the reward of giving back.

How It Works

Participants are carefully matched based on lifestyle preferences, schedules, house rules, and compatibility. We provide the initial information then pair you with a provider who supports both hosts and guests throughout the process from the initial application and background screening to move-in and beyond ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for everyone involved.

Who Can Participate?

  • Hosts - Homeowners or primary tenants with available space who are open to sharing their home with a vetted individual.

  • Guests - Individuals seeking stable, affordable housing in a welcoming home environment.

Why Home Sharing?

At its heart, home sharing is about human connection. It transforms unused space into a place of belonging while addressing one of today's most pressing challenges the need for accessible, dignified housing. Together, we can build stronger neighborhoods, one shared home at a time.
